This Defiance Fully Insulated Post Hole Spade has a strong fibreglass shaft which has excellent insulating and shock absorbing properties with a pinned shaft to help prevent the grip slipping during use. Insulated tools are ideal for use by utility, railway electrical, street lighting contractors etc. Used to dig holes for posts.

About Insulated Tools:
All of the Defiance range of insulated tools are manufactured and supplied in accordance with British Standard BS8020:2011 for electrical testing. This exacting standard was introduced to ensure the best possible protection from potential harm when working on or in close proximity to live conductor cables. Each tool is tested to 10,000v ac, and each tool is supplied with individual traceable certificate of conformity.
Defiance insulated contractor tools are doubly protected by twin layers of special polyer sheaths bonded over the fibreglass core. The orange insulation used for the outer sheathing has been developed for it’s high voltage protection. A white inner protective sleeve is incorporated beneath the main orange polymer sheath. If the outer protection abrades in use and the white sleeve becomes visible, the tool should be removed from use around live working systems. A specially contoured collar prevents the user’s hand slipping onto the steel blade.
